Harold L. Martin, Sr. (Ph.D. '80) has been appointed senior vice president for academic affairs of the 16-campus University of North Carolina. Martin served as chancellor of Winston-Salem State University since 2000 and is credited with guiding the university through a "remarkable transformation." He previously served at North Carolina A&T as a faculty member, chair of the department of electrical engineering, dean of engineering and vice chancellor for academic affairs.
